About the Role

Senior Product Designer

Experience: 4–8 years (someone who's been there, done that)

Company: Kiwi General Insurance

Location: Mumbai — Work from Office in Vikhroli (5 days a week)

Why Kiwi Insurance

We’re building a new-age general insurer from the ground up — no legacy, no baggage.

As our Senior Product Designer, you’ll own high-stakes customer journeys end-to-end and help make complex insurance feel simple, fast, and trustworthy.

What You’ll Do

  1. Own critical product flows (on the customer or agent side) — from discovery to shipping the ideal UX.
  2. Turn business goals into clear problem statements, hypotheses, and measurable outcomes (conversion, drop-off, NPS, resolution time).
  3. Drive research (qual & quant) with product, map journeys, and translate insights into flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI.
  4. Prototype (low → high fidelity) and validate via usability tests, A/Bs, and analytics; double-down on what works.
  5. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Compliance, Legal, and Ops to ship safe, simple experiences across app, web, and internal tools.
  6. Maintain UI quality through clear specs, edge-case handling, accessibility, and crisp handoffs.
  7. Use data tools (funnels, heatmaps, session replays) to identify issues and prioritize fixes; instrument what’s needed.
  8. Contribute to—and responsibly extend—our design system to move fast without breaking things.
  9. Tell the story: present work, align stakeholders, and make decisions under time pressure.

What Makes You a Fit

  1. 5–8 years in product design at product-led tech companies; you’ve shipped 0→1 and 1→1000.
  2. Portfolio shows ownership of major revenue/retention-critical user flows with measurable impact.
  3. Strong at IA, interaction design, and service-flow thinking; you sweat empty/error states and edge cases.
  4. Excellent collaboration with PMs and engineers; you write tight specs and think in systems.
  5. Comfortable with experimentation (A/B), analytics, and moving from insight → decision → iteration.
  6. Expert in Figma and modern prototyping; solid grasp of accessibility.

Must-Have

  1. Experience in a product company with end-to-end ownership of major user flows critical to the business.
  2. A stellar portfolio demonstrating shipped work with clear metrics (e.g., conversion lift, reduced drop-off, faster claim resolution).
  3. Proven ability to document decisions and create clarity across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  1. Fintech/insurance or other regulated-industry experience.
  2. Strength in mobile-first design for India (performance, trust, vernacular UX).
  3. Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows for exploration and scale.

What You’ll Get

  1. Scope and ownership on category-defining journeys from day zero.
  2. A chance to shape how India experiences insurance — simple, transparent, and fast.
